Plan to trick-or-treat in Salisbury 5:30-8 p.m. Oct. 27

Salisbury High School will host free winter athletic physicals for middle and high school athletes in the SHS main gym 5-7:30 p.m. Oct. 24. Use the sign-up genius link sent via email or email Monica Deeb at mdeeb@salisburysd.org for the link.

If your Salisbury Middle School/SHS child played a fall sport or was in marching band, your child does not need a new physical unless an injury prevented your child from completing the fall season. Recertification forms for fall athletes are located in student central/big teams accounts of SMS/SHS fall athletes at this time. Your child may go to your family physician or another approved health care provider. The physical form must be dated on or after June 1 in order to play a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, Inc. sport (or participate in twirling) in the 2023-2024 school year.

The next curriculum and technology committee meeting will be held 7 p.m. Oct. 18 immediately followed by the school board meeting. Both meetings will be held at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute this month.

SHS boys basketball will hold open gyms 3-5 p.m. on the following Mondays and Wednesdays: Oct. 11, Oct. 16, Oct. 18, Oct. 23, Oct. 25, Oct. 30, Nov. 1, Nov. 6 and Nov. 8. These open gyms are for boys in grades 9-12. Questions should be sent to Coach Weaver at jweaver@salisburysd.org

The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club will hold a clothing drive 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at SHS. The truck will be there for pickup at 12:30 p.m. so don’t be late! For a list of acceptable items, visit clothingdrive.net.

It’s almost Homecoming weekend. The annual homecoming parade will be held Oct. 26 with the parade departing Salisbury Elementary School 5:15 p.m. heading to SHS. Immediately following will be the SHS bonfire 6:30 p.m. Students will need their ID. The Homecoming game will be 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27.

Trick-or-treat will be held in the township 5:30-8 p.m. Oct. 27. This year the timing is slightly different to allow those students going to the football game ample time to have some extra fun. Remember that evening to be extra observant when traveling home as kids will be on the streets.

The Devonshire drop-off site will be open Oct. 12 and 14 and the Franko site will be open Oct. 16, 19 and 21. Hours will remain 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
