Falcon golfers compete in league tourney

Four members of the Salisbury golf team competed in last week’s Colonial League Championships at Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course.

Senior Ava Smarch shot 99 at the tournament and finished eighth in the girls league championship. She was one of just two girls players to make a birdie in the event as she carded a 2 on the par 3 fourth hole.

In the boys tournament, Owen Fogel led the Falcons with an 18th-place finish. The junior shot 89 and averaged bogey golf for the round as he made six pars, six bogeys and six doubles bogeys.

Salisbury’s Josh Holler shot 96 for 37th place at leagues, while teammate Jake Zellin shot 101 for 40th place.

Southern Lehigh’s Colin Sarnski won the boys individual title with a round of 9-over par 80 with teammate David Tervalon one stroke behind in second place. They also led the Spartans to the team title.

Moravian Academy’s Emma Xu won the girls team title with a round of 82, one shot better than Lion teammate Mara Dubacher.
