Trojan girls soccer remains undefeated

The Parkland High School girls soccer team had another unbeaten week last week, winning all three of its games, all in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference.

The Trojans have not lost yet during this regular season and won eight games, while tying Central Catholic. They are on a current six-game win streak.

Parkland won on the road at Easton last Monday, September 11, 6-1. The Trojans followed that up with a 3-0 shutout victory at home against Northampton last Wednesday night and then concluded the week with a 7-0 win over Freedom on Friday.

At Easton, Ellie Kocher recorded a hat trick to pace the offense. Isabelle Hallal tallied two goals and Dani Marsteller rounded out the scoring with a goal. Delaney Chilcote contributed two assists and Kocher and Sophia Hallal each had one, with the latter making three saves. Parkland outshot Easton 13-3 in shots on goal.

Against the Kids, Parkland scored a goal in the first half and led 1-0 at halftime. The Trojans gave themselves more breathing room and were able to put the game away in the second half with three goals. Kocher led the way with two goals and Lauren Ervin and Ella Amadio both netted a goal. Julia Hayward, Kennedy Perkins and Chilcote all finished with an assist each.

The Trojans did not have any trouble taking care of the Patriots and scored early and often. They are 8-0-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the conference. The Vikettes, which Parkland tied 2-2 back on September 1, for the only game in which it didn’t win this season, is also undefeated at 7-0-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the EPC.

Parkland has another three-game week this week, beginning with a home game against East Stroudsburg South this past Tuesday night. The Trojans are then at Stroudsburg on Thursday evening before welcoming Northwestern on Friday evening for a nonconference game.
