Emmaus opened up its season with a win in four sets over Whitehall back on August 29th. Scores of the match were 25-12, 25-7, 21-25 and 25-20 at Whitehall High School.

Rowie Stephens led the Green Hornets attack with nine kills, four digs and two aces. Olivia East finished with eight kills. Amanda Rivera Ayala recorded seven kills, three aces and three digs. Jasmine Shahda and Gwen Magida both contributed six kills with the latter adding five aces and three digs. Lauren Horvath made 19 digs to lead the defense.

The Green Hornets followed that with another win in conference play over Allen in straight sets that Thursday. After competing in the First Kill Tournament at Freedom High School that Saturday, Emmaus defeated Phillipsburg in nonconference action Sunday before falling to Central Catholic in straight sets on the road last Wednesday night by scores of 22-25, 20-25 and 17-25.

Emmaus then hosted East Stroudsburg North last Friday night before competing in the Wilson West Lawn Tournament on Saturday. The Green Hornets were at Dieruff this past Monday and at Pleasant Valley on Tuesday before welcoming Northampton Thursday night and Easton on Saturday, all in conference matches.
