Emmaus High School releases new device policy for 2023-2024 school year

For interested juniors and seniors, the Emmaus High School Counseling Department offers the following college visits: Shippensburg University Sept. 13, Marywood University Sept. 27 and Lafayette College Sept. 28. All visits will occur 1 p.m. in the counseling offices. To sign up for any visit, access Naviance.

The National Art Honor Society will hold its annual induction ceremony 6:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 in the EHS Auditorium. Selected inductees have been pre-notified. With questions, contact kpfenninger@eastpennsd.org.

As seniors approach graduation, the EHS Counseling Department will host a financial aid and postsecondary planning night 6-8 p.m. Sept. 20 in the EHS Auditorium. Comprehensively tackling the college application process, the event is designed for high school seniors and their families. Class of 2024 students must schedule a yearbook photo session through Wesley Works by Nov. 3. While there is no charge to take a yearbook photo, additional portrait packages may be purchased at a student’s discretion. All students must wear a drape, suit or other dark, business-casual attire. The fall sports season began Aug. 14 and will run through Nov. 16. Fall sports include band, cheerleading, cross-country, field hockey, football, golf, soccer, tennis and volleyball. To access the full schedule of events, visit www.ehshornetsathletics.com.

For the 2023-2024 school year, EHS will enact new policies for electronic device usage. Students and their families are encouraged to review these guidelines, which can be found in the EHS Student/Parent Handbook. Additional device regulations will be discussed in students’ classes during the first weeks of school. Students experiencing Chromebook issues may access the IT Department during Hornet Homeroom or 2-2:30 p.m. outside the EHS Library. Faulty devices will be collected and repaired while students receive loaner laptops.

In preparation for the production of “Little Women,” the EHS Theater Department is accepting new members. Interested students should join the department’s Schoology group with code 4GHW-J9CJ-Z3KQB, where a registration form is linked. Additionally, a calendar of events is posted in Schoology, highlighting audition and performance dates.

Over the summer, EHS updated its room-numbering system, adding color-coded landmarks to each hallway. To access the revised school map, students may visit their “Class of” Schoology page.
