PARKLAND COMMUNITY LIBRARY Antique Road Show appraiser to visit library on Sept. 5

Antiques Road Show author, auctioneer, appraiser and radio show host Mike Ivankovich will introduce participants to “What Determines Value” at its “What it’s Worth” program for adults 6-8 p.m. Sept. 5 at Parkland Community Library 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall.

He will reveal what your antiques, collectibles and personal treasures are worth.

To have an appraisal, respond for each attendee, and bring only one or two items to be appraised.

The library, will offer a game day for adults from 1-3:30 p.m. Aug. 25.

Baby Play Date for kids ages birth to 18 months, with an adult caregiver, will be offered 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 28.

Board books and various toys for unstructured play will be provided.

The Teen Lavender League for kids in grades six through 12 will take place 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Aug. 29.

Teens join library staff in a safe space and discuss anything that may be on your mind.

Snacks will be provided.

The Library Garden Club, an intergenerational gardening club for kids and adults, will meet 5-5:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at the library.

Learn how to help your garden grow.

Kids ages 6-12 are invited to make some buttons to decorate their backpacks at the drop-in Crafternoon: Backpack Buttons program from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 31.

Create your own or choose from some premade designs.

The library will have Free Play Friday, a special, unstructured playtime for kids ages 3 and younger, with a parent or guardian, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Sept. 1.

The Karen Tamerler children’s meeting room will be open, and developmentally appropriate toys and books will be provided.

Adults, join the library staff and try your luck at bingo 1-2 p.m. Sept. 1.

They encourage participants to bring a small prize to add excitement to each round played.

All games are free to play.

The library will be closed Sept. 2 and 4 for Labor Day.

Kids ages 4 and older are invited to bring a favorite book and practice reading to the patient and gentle Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 5.

Kids in fifth through 12th grade may stop by for an evening of mindfulness at the library’s Teen Back to School Mindfulness Hour 6-7 p.m. Sept. 6.

They will be coloring, puzzles, relaxing crafts, and more.

The library will host the drop-in Senior Coffee Club 10-11 a.m. Sept. 7.

Registration is needed to attend the bingo for adults and What’s it Worth program.
