Annual car show

This 2018 Corvette, owned by Dan Mitchell, is the personal favorite of Weston Hess, of Northampton, at the Northampton Area School District Student Council car show, held July 30 at Bicentennial Park West, 5351 Park West Lane, East Allen Township. The event had been moved from July 29 due to extremely hot and humid weather and the chance of severe thunderstorms.
A hands-down crowd favorite of this year's car show is this accurate reproduction of the virtually indestructible super car KITT from the mid-1980s television show “Knight Rider,” starring David Hasselhoff. The car, owned by Anthony Cacace, of Albrightsville, talks and understands verbal commands. The name KITT stands for Knight Industries Two Thousand.
Elias Dankel, of East Allen Township, feels the power while seated in this 1957 Hiram Hillegas Quarter Midget racing car, owned by Scott Weiss, of Cherryville.
No strangers to the local car show circuit, Brandyn Erkinger (left) and Dan Wunderler, of Bath, brought their 1930 Ford Model A Hot Rod for display at the car show.
PRESS PHOTOS BY DONNA GEWERTZ Car show organizers Sue and Roy Maranki gather for a photo in front of the chance auction fundraising raffle tables. The well-attended annual car show had 300 vehicles on display and entered into vehicle judging, the most ever for the show.
This original Schaible's Bakery 1936 Chevrolet panel truck, owned by Augie Binder, carries a load of simulated bread loaves and appears ready to still be hard at work making home deliveries.
Carrying on the legacy in honor of his late grandfather, Ron Lokay, by displaying his classic 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner, nicknamed “Pretty Lady,” current car owner Nate Horwath and Shannon Jacobs, of Whitehall Township, sit with their classic car.
Members of Student Council assisting with the coordination of the annual car show include, from left, Rachael Makary, Reece Makary, Steven Heisler and adviser Robyn Goodwin.
