Sheckler News: Sarah Koberline is new assistant principal

Sarah Koberline will join Sheckler Elementary School as the new assistant principal.

Amanda Derr will also join Sheckler Elementary and CMS as the new general music instructor for pre-K to sixth grade and will be the choral director for grades 4 and 5.

There will be early dismissals June 2, 5, 6 and 7; students will be dismissed noon.

The last school day for students is June 7.

Summer activities will take place daily June 12-July 21 at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St. Nerf baseball, basketball league and basketball pickup games will be some of the activities offered.

The program is free, and no registration is required. This is not a program affiliated with Catasauqua Area School District.

Sheckler is seeking a full-time secretary for a 12-month position, beginning Aug. 1. The secretary will be responsible for day-to-day operations within the school’s office. The position’s schedule will run 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays-Fridays with a 30-minute paid lunch.

Benefits will be included with the hiring package.

A summer reading camp from Camp BOOK IT! is now open for enrollment for children in grades pre-K to sixth or ages 4-12. This free camp, which runs June through August, will help students reach reading goals.
