Roughies Report: CHS athletes place in top 4

Congratulations to all of the Catasauqua High School student athletes who participated in the 2022-23 Colonial League track and field championship meet, held at Whitehall High School May 9 and 10. It was a great two days for CHS’ track and field program.

The following track and field participants finished in the top 4 and earned a medal: Hailey Jenkins, first place in the girls 100-meter dash; Abigail Antipas, Hailey Jenkins, Madelyn Gonzalez and Heaven Jenkins, third place in the girls 400-meter relay; Jacob Dove, Wyatt Younes, Hamaad Jenkins and Cedric Bright, fourth place in the boys 400-meter relay; Lauren Delong, third place in the girls shot put; Jacob Dove, third place in the boys 400-meter dash; Hailey Jenkins, second place in the girls triple jump; Heaven Jenkins, Alivia Bear, Abigail Antipas and Hailey Jenkins, fourth place in the girls 1600-meter relay; and Wyatt Younes, Peter Lapointe, Cedric Bright and Jacob Dove, third place in the boys 1600-meter relay.


Catasauqua Area School District will be closed May 29 in observance of Memorial Day. Schools will reopen and classes will resume normally May 30.


Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s annual celebration of the school’s seniors will be held May 31. Senior recognition night is an event for the Class of 2023 and its members’ accomplishments.

The ceremony begins 6:30 p.m. at PPL Center, 701 Hamilton St., Allentown. Doors will open 5:30 p.m.
