Play time, movie and more offered at Parkland Library

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, is presenting sensory play time for kids ages 1-5 from 10-11 a.m. on May 19 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Room.

The library will show “The Wolf on Wall Street” 1-3 p.m. May 19 for adults.

Baby Play Date for kids ages birth to 18 months, with an adult caregiver, will be offered 10:30-11:15 a.m. May 22 in the Karen Tamerler Children’s Meeting Room.

Board books and various toys for unstructured play will be provided.

Outdoor Family Story Time for kids ages 1 to 5 will take place 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. May 23 at the library.

There will be read-aloud stories, songs and rhymes.

Gentle yoga for adults will take place 4-5 p.m. May 23 and 30 at the library.

The library will hosting Award-winning musician Russ Rentler at its Roots of American Folk Music program for adults 7-8 p.m. May 24 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Room.

Rentler will play multiple instruments, including hammered and mountain dulcimer, guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, autoharp, etc., and explaining their role in the traditional folk music of the Appalachian regions.

Yarn lovers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to attend the Not Just Knitting group from 2-4 p.m. May 25 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Room.

Bring materials for an afternoon of knitting with friends and swapping tips.

The library’s coloring club for adults will take place 2-4 p.m. May 25 at the library.

Spend an afternoon coloring to de-stress.

Game day for adults will be held 1-3:30 p.m. May 26 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Room.

The Teen Lavender League for kids in grades six through 12 will take place 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. May 30 in Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Room.

Teens join library staff in a safe space and discuss anything on your mind. Snacks will be provided.

The Teen DVD Sun Catcher craft program will take place 6-7 p.m. May 31 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Room.

Teens will recycle DVD discs to make and decorate sun catchers.

The Friends of the Parkland Library will have a porch book sale 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. May 20 in the Friends Book Shop at the library.

Bring totes and stock up on paperback and hardcover books, audio CDs, music CDs, DVDs and puzzles.
