Hornet boys T&F loses to Parkland

The Emmaus boys track and field program suffered a loss to rival Parkland 91-58 to end the 2023 regular season last Tuesday afternoon at Parkland High School.

The loss dropped the Green Hornets to 7-1, while the Trojans secured the EPC South division title with the win and improved to 8-0.

Kyle Moore was a winner in the long jump, with teammate Jasiyah Banks securing second. Aiden Hurlburt took the pole vault with teammate Tyler Grabinski claiming second. In addition to the long jump, Moore claimed the triple jump with Emmaus’ Evan Loro and Josh Lynds finishing second and third.

Tyler Shotwell won the discus and Dylan Darville claimed the shot put.

Emmaus runners and sprinters were unable to secure victories on this day except for the 1,600-meter relay squad.

The month of May means the postseason and Hornets will be back in action at the EPC Championship on May 9 and 10 at Whitehall Zephyr Sports Complex.

“As far as placing at the EPC league championship, the boys need to stay healthy in order to reach their goal,” Emmaus coach Kami Reinhard said.
