Laura Warmkessel running for seat on school board

Upper Macungie resident and active community member, Laura Warmkessel, has cross-filed for a four-year seat on the Parkland School Board.

Warmkessel seeks one of four seats that will be up for election in November.

“It has been an honor to work for responsible development with North Whitehall for Sustainable Development (NW4SD) back in 2007 and now, these past two years, attending school board meetings, committee meetings and speaking directly with district administrators to be a voice of parents and the community to advocate for conscientious curriculum where parents have the ultimate rights of their child’s education, common sense spending to avoid these unnecessary tax increases and excessive wastes and a truly transparent and safe district that the community can be proud of,” Warmkessel said.

Warmkessel grew up in the Lehigh Valley and graduated from Salisbury High School.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in business administration/marketing from Kutztown University and Cedar Crest College.

The candidate says she is SHRM and OSHA 10 certified and has spent her career working in the medical device industry as a marketing director for specialty devices, client services and account manager where she has worked directly with multibillion-dollar medical corporations.

She also spent 23 years as a certified fitness instructor working part time for Rodale Aquatic Center, OAA and the former West End Racquet and Swim Club.
