Boys, girls get victories

Catasauqua had a good day on the baseball and softball diamonds Tuesday.

The boys’ team snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over Wilson that raised their overall record to 4-13.

Senior McKay Lewis went the distance allowing three runs on four hits and striking out two. Lewis also helped his cause with two RBIs. Junior Hunter Reitz went 2-for-3, and senior Christian Fye stole three bases and junior John Pushkar swiped two bases.

The girls routed Wilson, 11-1 behind Delaney Troxell’s no-hitter. Troxell also has two perfect games this season. The junior went 3-for-4 with four RBIs at the plate as well.

Freshmen Makayla Delaney and Nayeska Miranda each had two hits and RBIs apiece.

The Rough Riders kept their district playoff hopes alive and raised their record to 7-10 overall.
