Bands in the Round

Whitehall-Coplay Middle School sixth-grade band members Ashley Ramirez and Kaylani Smith are looking forward to their performance March 1 during Whitehall-Coplay School District's Bands in the Round concert, held in the Whitehall High School auditorium. The annual concert, which highlights the progression of band member skills during their musical careers, features Zephyr Elementary School, Whitehall-Coplay Middle School and WHS bands. Directing WCMS' seventh- and eighth-grade band, as well as the WHS concert band, Matthew Tanzos conducts in his 14th and final Bands in the Round concert. Tanzos is leaving WCSD for the music program at Nazareth High School for the chance to contribute to the high school music program from which he graduated.
WHS Principal Dr. Peter Mayes provides the introduction of the annual Bands in the Round concert to friends and family in the auditorium. Mayes introduced the first performance by the fourth-grade band from Zephyr, noting that as they progress through the district's music program, he looks forward to them performing with the high school band in a few short years.
Directing the fourth- and fifth-grade bands at Zephyr, as well as the sixth-grade band at WCMS, Kevin Miller provides some insight and introduction of the music program in the district.
