Emmaus Lion’s Club celebrates winners

On March 6, the Emmaus Lions Club gathered to celebrate the winners of the 2022 Peace Poster Contest. All the winners are students at Eyer Middle School taught by David Willett. Dhriti Patel takes third place in the poster contest with her usage of different flags and color. She and the other winners were selected out of 72 other entries, a far cry from the 12 entries entered during the first poster contest back in 2016.
Matthew Sakelarides wins second place. His poster reflected last year's theme of “Lead with Compassion” by having different symbols of peace represented from around the world. This year's upcoming theme is “Dare to Dream.”
Rosabel Cruz, center, is the first place winner of the Peace Poster Contest. Along with her $100 prize, her poster will be moving onto the national competition for the chance to win $5,000 and a trip to the United Nations in New York City. She is joined by Lion Club members Elliot Billman, president, Donald Kaufman, past district governor and Henry Heil, peace poster chairman.
