Spring is in the air when flower show blooms at Agri~Plex

Nurseries, artists and outdoor equipment vendors displayed their products at the Lehigh Valley Flower and Garden Show, March 10, at the Allentown Fairground’s Agri~Plex.

One of the most popular stops was a visit with the “snuggling goats” from the Steinmetz Family Farm, Fleetwood.

The Steinmetz family brought 40 young “snuggling goats” for visitors to pamper, hold, caress and just plain enjoy while at the show.

According to Justin Steinmetz, who co-owns the farm with his wife, Lauren, young goats up to 6-months-old tend to cuddle together.

This cuddling is due to their being pack animals and feel safer when “cuddling.”

The family will keep goats up to age 6 months, then they are adopted out, but only to “forever” homes.

Also, they must be adopted in pairs due to being pack animals.

Maybe Leah Hauck, 8, of Alburtis, should tell her parents, “Look who followed me home. Can we keep her?” while visiting the Steinmetz Family Farm snuggling goats at the flower and garden show.
