Rudolph M. Fischl Jr.

Rudolph M. Fischl Jr., 62, of Macungie, died March 18, 2023, after a short but courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He was the devoted husband of Lisa J. (Palladino) Fischl for the past 35 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Marie (Krug) Fischl.

He graduated from Dieruff High School and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilkes University in 1981 beginning a career as a buyer for Hess’s Department Store, Allentown. Later, he successfully completed the apprenticeship program for Local 420 Steamfitters. He worked for H.T. Lyons, Inc. for 35 years, retiring as a senior planner in November of 2022.

He embodied the true spirit of volunteerism as a coach for every sport played by his children. He enjoyed taking an active part in their young lives and encouraged all players to be the best they could be - not only in sports, but in life. He took great pleasure in bringing family and friends together by organizing parties, beach vacations, camping trips and his golf league. He loved all sports, but most notably he loved his Washington Redskins.

He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and the Lower Macungie Township Planning Commission.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Kiersten and her fiancé, Joe Ocelus, of Warrington; son, Justin and his wife, Tessa, of Royersford; sister, Jacqueline, of Whitehall; brother-in-law, Richard Uhl, of Glen Allen, Va.; nephews, Rick, Phillip and Alex Uhl; nieces, Heidi Dailey and Robin McGhee, all of Richmond, Va. He was predeceased by a sister, Antoinette Uhl.
