EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently a senior at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom’s name is Amy, my dad’s name is Kyle, my brother’s name is Carson and my dog’s name is Mookie.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is science because the information we learn keeps me into the lesson and I love learning about everything in science. It might also help me in the future for when I hopefully go to med school.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have received the defense of the year award and Eastern Pennsylvania Conference first team in softball. I have also earned honor roll every year since I was in middle school.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in this organization impacted your high school experience?

A. I am involved with softball. Softball has taught me how to be strong and mentally tough. You have to accept failure in times when you don’t wanna fail. I have to keep reminding myself that I have other teammates that will pick me up. I love being with my friends and I have made so many good friends while playing as well.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge right now is trying to balance the work for the high school and the Emerging Health Program. There are a lot of cool things we do in this program but they are required to give us a lot of work. We are also in a anatomy class at Lehigh Carbon Community College which I had to learn how to take notes and study for tests.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I want to go to college and end up in medical school.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my young life leader, Connie. Ever since I went to young life for the first time I knew I wanted to be just like her. She always has a smile on her face and will make your day 10 times better. She has taught me how to be strong and fight through tough days. She is always there for me no matter what she is doing. What I admire the most about Connie are the things she does for me. She goes out of her way to meet up with me if I need help or need someone to talk to.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as a student athlete that was a leader at softball and in school.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My biggest advice for my peers is enjoy this time while you can. It is almost over and after this year we all go our own way. It will go faster than you think it will and I think everyone needs to just have fun.
