Sheckler News: Students participate in state convention

Sheckler Elementary School students participated in the Pennsylvania Invention Convention, proposing the idea of a speed digger for snow shoveling.

The final Scholastic book fair of the year is coming to Sheckler Elementary Feb. 24. Students can shop during library expressive time until March 2.

Be sure to check students’ book bags for the fliers that have been sent home.

Literacy night is back at Sheckler.

Students and families are invited 6-8 p.m. March 2 for some fun activities including bingo, grade-level activities, an author visit, Scholastic book fair and a basket raffle. There will be a photo opportunity available, and students will receive a drawstring bag to hold all of the goodies from the night.

Students and families are encouraged to dress up as a favorite storybook character.

Yearbooks are now on sale through May 5. The fee is $20, and yearbooks will be shipped to the school and passed out at the end of the academic year.

Spring soccer sign-ups are now available by visiting cattysoccer.org/register. The season is set to begin in April.

If players are returning from the fall program, a free spring payment method will be made available during checkout.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the program. Coaches, assistant coaches and a new board member are needed at this time.
