Girls fall to top teams

With Northwestern Lehigh and Palmerton battling for the top spot in the Colonial League playoff seedings, the Lady Falcons had the unenviable task of facing the two teams in back-to-back games. Neither team showed any mercy to Salisbury (3-18, 2-14) as they both collected wins to continue their battle.

Salisbury managed a combined 30 points in the two games. Against the Lady Tigers (20-1 overall, 15-1 Colonial League), Desiree Nales was the Falcons’ top scorer with six points. Freshman Kendra Morgan scored four while Hannah Kamp and Angela Bitar both finished with three in a 52-16 loss. The four players were the only ones to score for Salisbury.

Just two nights later, Salisbury had to make the trek to Palmerton (18-3, 15-1) where the Lady Blue Bombers downed the Falcons 43-14.

Kamp, a senior, led Salisbury with five points, while Nales had four. Tula Reihman (three points) and Morgan (two points) were the only other players to score as Salisbury again was limited to having just four players score in the game.

Ironically, Salisbury played the two teams in back-to-back games early in the season and was held to a combined 30 points in the two games with just four players scoring in each game. The 14 points scored against Northwestern in the first game and against Palmerton in the most recent matchup are season lows for Salisbury’s offense.
