Now through Feb. 10, the Emmaus High School Choral Department will sell Valentine’s Day choir telegrams during all lunch periods. For $8, students can “hire” an EHS quartet to perform a romantic tune for another student of choice. Performances will occur Feb. 13-15 during the selected student’s Hornet Homeroom. All performances come with a treat and card.

The EHS Coffee House is rescheduled 7 p.m. Feb. 10 in Cafeteria 1. Performers include musicians, singers, bands and more.

The annual 4-Way Speech Contest, hosted by the Emmaus Rotary Club, will be held March 1 at Willow Lane Elementary School.

The competition allows students to speak about an ethical dilemma of choice for monetary awards. Interested students must contact anmoyer@eastpennsd.org by Feb. 10 to register as a contestant. Further details will be provided as the competition date nears.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, the Class of 2025 will host a carnation sale through Feb. 13 during all lunch periods. Students will have the option to send flowers anonymously or with a message to another student of choice.

For accurate delivery, the recipient’s room number and block number must be provided. All carnations will be delivered Feb. 14 throughout the school day. For more information, visit @ehsclass2025 on Instagram. Prices may be found on the EHS announcements website.

In honor of Presidents Day, EHS will be closed Feb. 17 to 20. No student instruction will occur over this four-day weekend.

The EHS Theater Department will host its next meeting after school Feb. 23 in Room 201, the Black Box, featuring club updates and an improv session. Additional information may be found on the group’s Schoology page.

Preparing for a national championship in May, the EHS Fitness Team holds practices after school 2:45-4:15 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. All are invited to join. With questions, contact lenni@ptd.net.

In an effort to connect with its school audience, The Stinger, EHS’ student-run newspaper, has released a survey for any students to complete. Questions allow for student suggestions, criticisms and feedback on recent newspaper issues. The survey may be accessed through a school email forwarded to all students by bguarriello@eastpennsd.org.

The EHS Field Study program will be offered to current sophomores and juniors during the 2023-2024 school year, providing internships and real-world experiences in various industries. For details, find program posters posted throughout the EHS hallways or visit the “Class of” Schoology page. Any questions may be directed to kduffy@eastpennsd.org.
