Upper Milford Historical Society to host open houses

Upper Milford Historical Society

Open houses open to the public

On the third Sunday of each month, the Upper Milford Historical Society will be open to the public.

Visitors will be welcome 1-4 p.m.

Residents of the community who are interested in researching information about prior ownership of their residences, learning more about the township or seeing the artifacts donated and curated over the years will be welcome.

Members of the UMHS, which is an all-volunteer organization, will staff the open house events. Previously, the archives have only been open for one hour prior to monthly meetings, which are held the last Thursday of each month January through October. Meetings usually include a brief business meeting followed by a program.

The UMHS archives include documents dating as far back as the 1700s, a large collection of locally discovered arrowheads and jasper, examples of home and farm implements used in the township, photographs, school yearbooks and many other artifacts documenting life in the area.

The historical society is located in the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St., Old Zionsville.

Visit the UMHS website at www.uppermilford.org, the organization’s Facebook page or email uppermilfordhist@gmail.org for additional information.
