The Lehigh County coroner’s office released details about a worksite incident where a man was killed Wednesday afternoon.

Nicholas A. Varec, 36, of Emmaus, was pronounced dead on Wednesday at 2:06 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. An autopsy will be completed on Friday to determine

the cause of death.

Varec was involved in an on-site job accident and was reportedly to have been pinned between construction equipment and a trench box. The incident occurred just before 12:30 p.m. in the 4100 Block of Mountain View Drive, Lehigh Township, Northampton County.

In addition to the coroner’s office, the Lehigh Township Police Department and The

Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident.
