CWSA approves donations to Lions Clubs

Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority’s monthly meeting was held Nov. 17 at the CWSA building, 3213 MacArthur Road.

The CWSA annual donations to Whitehall and Coplay were approved. Lions Clubs from both municipalities will be receiving the donations.

In other business, the 2023 preliminary budget was distributed to officers for review and will be voted on at the next meeting.

Secretary Paul Geissinger questioned an invoice for attorney fees regarding paving request at 3012 MacArthur Road. These fees will be passed on to the property owner as agreed.

Two votes were taken regarding Pennsylvania Municipal Health Insurance Cooperative. One is to approve an amendment and the other is to have PMHIC Secretary Troy Bingaman place a proxy vote on behalf of CWSA. Both motions were approved.

The employee Christmas lunch was approved. It will be held either Dec. 14 or 21.

It was noted a headstone for the former CWSA Chairman John F. Schreiner was placed in the northeast corner of the Coplay Cemetery at Ninth and Oak streets.

A proposal was made to change the time of the 2023 CWSA monthly meeting from 7:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The motion was approved by the officers.

The meetings will remain on the third Thursday of each month.
