BASD welcomes families to open house

The Bethlehem Area School District’s transportation department held its inaugural open house Oct. 22, drawing dozens of families. A school bus ride to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating, balloon art, face painting, a scavenger hunt, and snacks and drinks made for an afternoon of fun family activities. Transportation General Manager Jenny Robinson said, “We are looking for ways to showcase our involvement in the community. We live here and work here,” said Robinson, who said that ongoing recruitment efforts for drivers and monitors were behind the community event. Department employees coordinated the open house, staffed the buses and supervised activities. Dale Koehler & Sons Farm and ShopRite were sponsors.
