St. John’s UCC, Laurys Station, to present Macungie Band

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will host a festive concert by the Macungie Band 3 p.m. Nov. 20.

The program, “Gift of Song,” will feature patriotic pieces, hymns and a variety of other music to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the church.

Light refreshments and a time for fellowship will be offered afterward.

The concert is free to the public, but tickets are recommended to assure seating.

St. John’s welcomes the community to the annual Thanksgiving Eve service 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will rededicate its 150-year-old sanctuary and refurbished steeple at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services on Nov. 20.

Special music will be led by Roni and Matt Gerry, including the Community Choir, brass instruments and vocal soloists.

Church quilters will be honored, and a quilt raffle will take place.

Everyone is invited to enjoy cake and refreshments after the services.

Founded in 1755, the congregation originally worshipped in settlers’ homes, a log church and later a stone church until the present building was erected in 1872.

Faith Wesleyan Church welcomes the community to a free Thanksgiving dinner at the Schnecksville Fire Company pavilion at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19.

A traditional Thanksgiving meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, sides and desserts will be offered.
