Marion Louise Bohunicky

Marion Louise Bohunicky, 96, of Treichlers, died Nov. 1, 2022. She was the wife of the late Sgt. Joseph Bohunicky for 58 years.

Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Graver) Mendle.

She was a 1944 graduate of Palmerton High School, where she was the lead flag twirler.

She attended Drexel University and Temple University.

During World War II, while at university, she worked in the drafting division at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. She was a technician for Western Electric. She and her late husband owned and operated Treichlers Hotel from 1949 to 2007.

In her youth, she was a Campfire Girl for many years. She was a member of the Palmerton Historical Society.

She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton.

She is survived by three sons, Joseph Jr. of Treichlers, Stephen of Danielsville and Brian and wife Teddi Bohunicky of Cary, N.C.; a daughter, Dolores Kalb of Allentown; three grandchildren, Dr. Kyle, Stephanie and Jamie; two great-granddaughters, Caylee and Cecelia; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Robert Kalb.

Services will be private.
