Matt and I have ridden sections of the D & L Trail over the years. This year we set a goal of filling in the sections so we can say we’ve ridden the whole trail. We took advantage of the beautiful weather and fall foliage to ride the Bowmanstown to Jim Thorpe section this past weekend.

The section from Weissport to Jim Thorpe was particularly stunning. The bonus was coasting into Jim Thorpe on our bikes to see the bumper-to-bumper traffic heading into town and the jockeying for a parking space. We decided the next time we want to visit Jim Thorpe during leaf peeper season, we’ll avoid the traffic and go by bike.

The copy deadline for the Dec. 7 column will be Dec. 1.
