NORTH WHITEHALL: Basket party opportunities offered in North Whitehall

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, has scheduled a basket party for 5-8 p.m. Oct. 28, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 29.

The kitchen will be open and there will be baked goods for sale.

Children who come in costume will receive a chance to win a giant kids’ basket.

Bring a bag of personal care items or nonperishable food to receive a free sheet of tickets.

There will be special raffles for high priced items.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will host a walk-in basket social 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 4, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5.

The event will feature baskets for food lovers, sports fans, holidays, special occasions, babies, kids, gift certificates and more.

Plenty of food will be available for take out, including homemade baked goods.

Mark your calendar for the Macungie Band concert at St. John’s 3 p.m. Nov. 20.

Faith Wesleyan Church invites children of the community to a trunk or treat celebration at the Schnecksville Fire Company 1-3 p.m. on Oct. 29.

The event features free pony rides, a variety of games and activities, an inflatable moon bounce, plus free snow cones, popcorn, and candy.

Children are invited to come in Halloween costumes, view the decorated trunks, and receive their treats.

Everything is free, although the Schnecksville Fire Co. will have food available for purchase.

The Schnecksville Fire Co. will cook up an all-you-can-eat breakfast 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Oct. 30.

Menu includes a variety of breakfast foods, beverages, and homemade creamed dried beef.

The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, will be busy in the kitchen on Election Day, Nov. 8.

They will be offering peach, blueberry, shoofly, and cherry pies, and sandwiches.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will remember veterans and recognize active military personnel during the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on Nov. 6.

Copeechan Fish and Game Club, 4460 Washington St., Schnecksville, invites veterans and a guest to a free dinner 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 13.

The public is also welcome but must pay for tickets.
