Clark R. Kelly

Clark R. Kelly, 86, a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, died Oct. 15, 2022, at Luther Crest, South Whitehall. He was the devoted husband of Myrna E. (Stahl) Kelly. He was the youngest son of the late George and Eva’s (Heimbach) five children. He grew up on Jubilee Street in Emmaus and graduated from Emmaus High School.

He was a radioman first class in the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam from November 1966 to March 1970. He extended his stay so another could avoid going to Vietnam. His 20-year Naval career took him all over the world, including Germany where he saw The Beatles play in a club. He later worked for 23 years as a clerk at PPL.

He gave up his bachelor ways when he met a cute server named Myrna at the Mercantile in Emmaus. The two married in 1984 and enjoyed a happy life on Third Street.

He was a past commander of the Claude Fisher VFW in Emmaus and a past master of the Emmaus Masonic Lodge No. 792. He was a fan of word puzzles and western movies. He and his wife would take his 1979 powder blue Thunderbird to car meets.

He was a member of St. John’s UCC, Emmaus.

He is survived by his wife; stepson, Rick Reinhard and his wife, Katherine; stepgrandchildren, Erika and her husband, Max Morgan and Alex Reinhard and his wife, Ali and their son, Wolfgang; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11:45 a.m. Oct. 20 in the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A viewing will precede the service 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
