Madison Stettler, Schnecksville, first place

Strawberry Shortcake Sandwich Cookies

Mix:

1/4 lb. melted butter

1-1/2 cup sugar

2 eggs

Add:

1/2 pint sour cream (1 cup)

1 tsp. vanilla

Mix, then add:

3 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

Mix well and chill 1 hour before baking. Bake on ungreased pan (spoon dough onto pans and make balls). Bake 325 degrees for 8-10 minutes. When cool, frost and decorate. Can add sprinkles.

Filling:

1 pint heavy whipping cream

2 cups powdered sugar

1 8 oz. bar of cream cheese

2-1/2 cups fresh strawberries, cut into pieces.

Sprinkle powdered sugar on the top of the sandwiches for decoration.
