UPPER MACUNGIE: St. John’s Busy Bees selling hoagies

The Busy Bees of St. John’s UCC, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, is having a hoagie sale.

Choose either ham or Italian with or without onions.

Hoagie orders are due by Sept. 11. Pickup on Sept. 21.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, will have a community free dinner 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 16.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 8227 Hamilton Blvd., Breinigsville, is having a basket social between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sept. 17.

There will be more than 100 baskets to choose from ranging from baby gifts, kid’s crafts, movie night, food gifts, gardening, bird-watching, spa items, tools, gift cards from local restaurants and retail, and a grand prize of $1,000 gift card from Best Buy.

There will also be specials items such as a Yeti cooler, fire pit, crock pot and Eagles merchandise.

Participants do not need to be present to win.

Everyone who brings a donated food item will receive a ticket.

There will be refreshments and a bake sale.

Cash only for tickets available in advance or at the door.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will host a Harvest Moon Festival from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 10.

This event will include food, games, raffles, live music, crafts, a cake walk and more.

Bring a donation of fresh produce or canned goods to the event and receive a free raffle ticket for the basket raffle.

The more donations, the more tickets you will receive.

All donations of produce and canned goods will go to the Lowhill Food Pantry.

Harvest Home Services will be held during the Lutheran service at 8:30 a.m. and during the UCC Service at 11:05 a.m. Sept. 11.

Union Sunday School will begin 10 a.m. Sept. 11.

ELCA “God’s Work, Our Hands” volunteers will pack military boxes for those who serve outside of the country 10 a.m. Sept. 11.

Donations needed include snack bars, cheese crackers, candy (no chocolate), Moose Crunch Bars, gum, nuts, trail mix, Ramen noodles, flavoring packets for water, beef jerky, instant Mac and Cheese, peanut butter, toothbrushes and paste, lip balm, lotions, word puzzle books, stationery, and envelopes, etc.

Mission Team’s Shrimp Boil will take place 4-6 p.m. Sept. 18.

Eat in or takeout will be available.

The adult menu will include salad, half pound of shrimp, sausage, potato, corn, drink, and dessert

Children’s menu includes quarter pound of shrimp or hot dog, sausage, potato, half a cob of corn, drink, and dessert.

Orders must be placed by Sept. 11.

Payment can be made before or at pickup.
