Support Salisbury Theatre at Udder Bar Aug. 18

The Salisbury Theatre will hold a fundraiser at the Udder Bar, 1852 W. Allen St., 6-10 p.m. Aug. 18. Come out for a yummy snack and support Salisbury Theatre. Mention you’re there for the theater group so they receive a percentage of your purchase.

Do you have a rising kindergarten student? Salisbury Elementary School will hold a Popsicle play date for the incoming kindergarten students and their families 6:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the front playground at the school. Salisbury Township will officially welcome kindergarten, fifth and ninth grade students back in the buildings Aug. 29, with all students returning Aug. 30. Please note on Sept. 2 and Sept. 5, all Salisbury Township schools will be closed for students. School will reopen Sept. 6.

The Salisbury Township Recreation Committee is sponsoring a summer concert at Franko Park 4 p.m. Sept 24 with the band AM Radio. Bring your chair and blankets and enjoy a night of music with friends and neighbors.

The Movie Tavern continues to hold its summer family film series. With discounted matinee showings Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, scheduled family friendly movies will be showing. Scoobi will show Aug. 17-18, Puss in Boots will show Aug. 21, 22 and 24-25 and Kung Fu Panda will show Aug. 28-29 and Aug. 31- Sept. 1. Drinks and popcorn are discounted as well. There are only a few weeks left of this series, so I hope you have been able to get to see a few family friendly movies.

The Devonshire location will be open for recycling drop off 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 18 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 20. The Franko Farm drop-off center will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 and 25 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 27.
