Enjoy music? Join the Miller Symphony Hall Lyric Society as an usher for Allentown Symphony Association events. Take tickets, answer questions or hand out programs to patrons. The American Red Cross is seeking bilingual volunteers to serve in the Allentown and Lehigh Valley community in a variety of ways including – recruit other bilingual volunteers, translation assistance, respond to local emergencies like home fires and floods to provide comfort items and financial assistance and assist with casework for families and children who have experienced an emergency like a fire or flood. Are you good with technology? Share your knowledge of cellphones, tablets, Amazon Fire TV Stick and Smart TV with the residents at Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab. As this technology is new to some residents, volunteers are needed to share their talents and a little time. The minimum age to volunteer is 16 or 13 with an adult. Fundraising without the guilt! Customers buying refreshments is a fun part of any event and they will come right to volunteers Aug. 23 at Coca-Cola Park for the IronPigs home game. Approximately 20-25 volunteers (ages 14+ only) are needed to help run a variety of concession stands during the game. Volunteers will need to arrive 5 p.m. and will need to stay for clean up duties at the end of the night. For community members and students who wish to give back, who want to make a difference in other people’s lives, Lehigh Valley Health Network has numerous volunteer opportunities available throughout the Lehigh Valley. They are seeking energetic and caring individuals to provide support to staff and patients, offer assistance to guests, help in gift shops and offer clerical support. If you have a certified therapy dog, we would love to have you join our team of dogs visiting patients and staff. The minimum age to volunteer is 16. Our small dogs need your love and some social skills, as well as a daily walk, clean kennels and fresh water and food. Celebrating 42 years, the Museum of Indian Culture will hold its Native American Indian festival Aug. 20 and 21. Volunteers are needed for food stands, parking lot attendants, children’s activity area, trash attendants, floaters, kitchen food prep helpers and clean up staff. Tidy up the Grist Mill and Grim House for the fall flea market Aug. 21. The Whitehall Historical Preservation Society also needs general yard work to make the space presentable and other basic maintenance tasks.
