North Catasauqua: The Clap set to perform Aug. 5 at North Catasauqua park

North Catasauqua Recreation Committee’s summertime program includes concerts and Family Night.

Events are free to the public. A monetary donation to the nonprofit group, which is dedicated to keeping the local park well maintained, is always welcomed.

All events are held at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St.

Planned band concerts include The Clap, 7 p.m. Aug. 5 and Steel Creek, 7 p.m. Aug. 24, with a rain date of 7 p.m. Aug. 25.

Family Night will be held Aug. 17.

There will be a yard sale 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 6 at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua, to benefit the Public Library of Catasauqua.

There will be no electronics or furniture. The sale is cash only.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is holding a half-price sale through Aug. 6 on everything in the store, unless otherwise marked.

The thrift shop is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Shop volunteers are happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing during store hours.

Proceeds from the shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association will hold an open house at Biery House, 8 Race St., Catasauqua, and art gallery 1-4 p.m. the second Sunday in August and September.
