Having fun at camp

PRESS PHOTOS BY DONNA GEWERTZ After a morning of physical activities and games at Hokendauqua Park, this group of Camp Whitehall kids heads off for an afternoon of swimming at the township's Parkview Pool, Hokendauqua. From left are Vinessa Eggleston, Charlotte Sweeney, Cynthia Butrs, Elena Guzmon and Penelope Goletz, all of Whitehall Township.
Campers take a break for lunch before gearing up for an afternoon of swimming. Camp Whitehall, under the direction of Whitehall Township Recreation Bureau, has approximately 40 kids attending the camp each day. The program runs for eight weeks over the course of the summer.
Pierre Butrs, of Whitehall, doesn't seem to “tire” as he makes his way through this portion of the obstacle course.
Fellow campers watch as Adam “AJ” Marakovits, of Whitehall, goes airborne during a game of Jump the River, a long-jumping game with an increasing distance between a set of marker flags.
Keeping her balance, Celina Butrs, of Whitehall, crosses a telephone pole balance beam as she takes her turn on the obstacle course.

Charlotte Sweeney, of Whitehall, makes crossing the monkey bars on the obstacle course look easy.
