NORTH WHITEHALL: St. John’s UCC presenting anniversary concert

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, welcomes everyone to a 150th anniversary concert 6 p.m. July 10.

Music will be provided by Dolcetto - the Glenn Hofmann Trio.

The ensemble performs jazz, pop, blues, swing, and Dixieland in a fresh, fun-filled style.

Instrumental background includes saxophones, keyboard, trumpet, clarinet, flute, harmonica and percussion.

Voices of Glenn and Debra Hofmann blend with the harmonies of Jeffrey Halbert.

Doors open 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served in fellowship hall after the concert.

St. John’s will celebrate Cornerstone Sunday on June 26. The cornerstone was put in place 150 years ago on June 23.

The congregation will honor the Miller family who donated to what was once known as Miller’s Church, families who descended from ancestors in and around the Laurys area, and the people who are the continuing cornerstone of the church.

A celebration with birthday cake will follow the 9 a.m. worship service.

The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, will serve a chicken barbecue dinner noon-6 p.m. July 16.

The takeout only meal will include half a chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, a roll, pickled cabbage and dessert.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will have a Build Your Own Sundae - Sunday in the grove after the 10:30 a.m. service on June 26.

Many different toppings will be offered to make your special sundae.

All are welcome to join in this delicious summer event.

There is still time to stop by the Upper Lehigh Lions food trailer at the Schnecksville Community Fair which runs until June 25.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, is always collecting items for its Free Little Pantry and the Parkland CARES Food Pantry.

This spring the church fulfilled an additional need which is often overlooked.

The congregation collected 154 rolls of toilet paper to share with people who visit the food pantries.
