Simple assault

A 22-year-old male was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment after allegedly punching another person in the face with a closed fist May 4 at a location along Princeton Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Criminal mischief

Two vehicles were damaged at Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, when a male punched the cars in an incident May 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A side exterior glass wall panel, valued at $200, was damaged at Weis Markets, 3440 Grandview Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between March 4 and March 29, according to Lower Macungie Township. No property was removed.

Identity theft

A resident of Barnside Road, Lower Macungie Township, found out their personal information was used to open a Verizon Wireless Account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported April 25.

A resident of Mink Road, Upper Milford Township, discovered a bank account was opened in the resident’s name without the resident’s knowledge or consent, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported April 25.

Troopers responded to a residence along Springridge Drive West, Lower Macungie Township, for a report of an identity theft involving a bank account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported March 21.

Scam

A resident of Wellers Road, Lower Macungie Township, received two phone calls from a person posing as the resident’s granddaughter who said she was in a car accident and needed $1,000 to pay medical fees, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported April 28.

Theft

Mail was allegedly missing from a residence along Magnolia Circle, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported March 24.

Retail theft

Various food items with a total value of $119.86, were removed from Weis Markets, 3440 Grandview Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between March 13 and March 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 40-year-old male, of Macungie, was arrested for allegedly removing various food items with a total value of $205.98 from Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 11:50 a.m. March 16, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft from motor vehicle

An Apple MacBook laptop, valued at $1,600 and a black nylon computer bag, valued at $25, were removed from a vehicle parked at a location on South Hillview Road, Lower Macungie Township, overnight April 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Accidents

A motorist and his passenger escaped injury when the pickup truck in which they were riding overturned and landed on its roof along Kings Highway South, Lower Milford Township, 6:50 p.m. May 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was driving a 2002 F250 Supercab truck traveling south when the truck became airborne. Upon landing back on the roadway, the truck swerved and traveled off the east shoulder and hit an embankment before flipping. The Lower Milford Fire Department and Detwiler’s Towing also responded.

A towing strap broke and the vehicle being towed became dislodged on Route 100, just south of Aster Road, Lower Macungie Township, 8:50 a.m. April 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A Mack Truck AN64T was traveling north at the time and the dislodged vehicle hit a ditch on the right side of the roadway. No one was injured.
