Weapons on school property

A 14-year-old female allegedly brandished a pocket knife and threatened another student as a joke at Lower Macungie Middle School, 6299 Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:52 p.m. April 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The student was reported to the school principal who immediately contacted state police. The student was released to a parent and suspended from school.

Theft from vehicle

Two catalytic converters were removed from a vehicle parked at a location along Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 8:50 a.m. April 12.

A license plate was removed from a vehicle parked at a location on Spruce Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 8:30 p.m. April 27 and 5 p.m. April 28, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A catalytic converter was removed from a vehicle parked at a location along Cold Spring Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 5:13 a.m. April 3.

Identity theft

A resident of Berwyn Lane, Lower Macungie Township, learned a line of credit was opened in his name and used to purchase a couch, valued at $3,304.80, in Bronx, N.Y., according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A resident of Hanover Drive, Lower Macungie Township, received a letter regarding eligibility for unemployment benefits for which he had not applied April 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A resident of Lakeside Lane, Lower Macungie Township, learned a bank account was opened by using his personal information, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported April 28 and the account has since been closed.

Hit and run

A 20-year-old male motorist, of Macungie, allegedly left the scene of a two-car crash in the area of Willow Lane/East Texas Road and Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:24 a.m. April 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The male allegedly left the crash scene before troopers arrived because he was driving with a suspended license.

Found property

A person turned in cash totaling $750 found at the Wawa convenience store, 3321 Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The person told store employees she found the money in the parking lot at the convenience store March 9. A store manager reported the incident and gave the cash to state police April 5.

Motorcycle accidents

A 46-year-old motorcyclist, of Emmaus, was seriously hurt when he was ejected from his own motorcycle and struck by another motorcycle on St. Peter’s Road near Lee Circle, Upper Milford Township, 2:49 p.m. April 2, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorcyclist missed a right curve in the road and struck an embankment on the left shoulder, throwing him from his motorcycle. He slid into the road where his legs were struck by a motorcycle driven by another motorcyclist. The 46-year-old male was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest campus. His motorcycle was towed from the crash scene. The second motorcyclist was not injured.

A motorcyclist was hurt when he was ejected from his motorcycle after striking a car in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hensingersville Road and Mountain Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4:15 p.m. April 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The driver of the car was southbound on Hensingersville Road nearing the intersection while the motorcyclist was westbound on Mountain Road nearing the intersection. The car came to complete stop before entering the intersection; however, the driver allegedly did not see the approaching motorcycle and moved through the intersection. The collision threw the motorcyclist approximately 15 feet. The motorcyclist was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest campus. Lower Macungie Fire Department and Macungie EMS crews also responded.

Bad checks

A resident of Terrwood Drive East, Lower Macungie Township, discovered a check written to a charity for $200 and mailed March 23 was altered and cashed for $1,200 after reviewing bank account information April 28, according to Pennsylvania State Fogelsville.

DUI

A 45-year-old female, of Emmaus, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a one-vehicle crash in the 4400 block of Kings Highway North, Upper Milford Township, 3:42 p.m. April 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 49-year-old male, of Emmaus, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a motor vehicle crash in the 2700 block of Mill Race Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4:34 p.m. March 29, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 29-year-old male, of Allentown, was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop at the intersection of East Minor Street and Klines Lane, Emmaus borough, 12:24 a.m. April 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Accident

A motorist was slightly hurt in a two-vehicle collision with a state police SUV near the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:12 p.m. April 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A media release outlines the incident as follows. Two marked state police vehicles were responding to an incident at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road with emergency lights and sirens activated. The trooper slowed and paused the SUV while entering the intersection from Hamilton Boulevard where westbound traffic was stopped for the SUV to pass. The vehicle driven by the second motorist was traveling east on Hamilton Boulevard and entered the intersection where the vehicles collided. The trooper in the second state police vehicle, who was not involved in the collision, stopped to give aid at the scene. No other motorists or witnesses stopped, according to state police. Both vehicles were towed from the crash. Stew’s Tire Center also responded.

Theft

A green leather wallet was removed while its owner, of Germansville, was at Costco Wholesale, 791 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The wallet contained a driver’s license, AAA card and $75. The incident was reported 1 p.m. April 23.
