Gregory John Davis
Gregory John Davis, 70, formerly of Zionsville, died April 4, 2022, surrounded by his family in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was the husband of April Spencer Davis. Born in East Orange, N.J., he was the son of the late Osborne and Gertrude Davis and lived most of his childhood in Mount Tabor and Parsippany, N.J.
He graduated from Morris Knolls High School in 1969 and completed his bachelor’s degree in business at Lycoming College in 1974.
He worked at the former Schaefer/Stroh/Pabst Brewery in Fogelsville for most of his career.
He and his wife enjoyed traveling to tropical destinations. He was the biggest fan while coaching or attending his sons’ sporting events. He carried that love into his relationship with his grandchildren and was a regular at their sporting events as well.
He served his church faithfully for over 40 years as an usher, a grounds caretaker and many other ways.
He was an avid car enthusiast/street rodder and enjoyed many car shows with his 1940 Ford sedan at Macungie Memorial Park and across the East Coast. He was a lifelong New York Giants and Islanders fan and enjoyed watching many sports and auto racing.
He had a way of making everyone around him feel important, valued, loved and welcomed. He was known for his smile, humor and funny facial expressions and his love for his wife and sons.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Spencer and his wife, Rebecca, of Zionsville, Jeremy and his partner, Nicole Shadan, of Manchester, N.H.; a brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Sue, of Macungie; grandsons, Taylor, Jacob, Parker, Weston and Elijah; granddaughters, Sa’Veah, Sofia and Julie; extended family; in-laws and some outlaws (as he called them).
Contributions may be made to the Emmaus High School lacrosse team (checks payable to Emmaus Lacrosse) or Emmaus High School baseball.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 3 p.m. May 28 at Macungie Memorial Park. At the request of “Chevyhead” aka Greggor, all family and friends are invited and also encouraged to attend with their street rod, muscle car, motorcycles or other street legal motorized toys to honor his love for cool rides.
