Carol Catherine Holben Daniel
Carol Catherine Holben Daniel, 83, died peacefully April 21, 2022, in her home in Salisbury Township, surrounded by loving family and friends. She was the wife of John Lisy Daniel for 28 years and the late Michael L. Holben for 32 years. Born and raised in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Miriam (Kuhns) Chipser.
She was a graduate of Allentown High School (1956) and Abington School of Nursing (1959). Upon graduation, she became a pediatric nurse at Allentown Hospital (17th Street). Her nursing skills were best utilized, however, performing home dialysis for 18 years for her first husband. She served as a mentor and coach for home dialysis for numerous families and nurses in training.
She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Macungie.
She and her second husband traveled extensively, wintering in St. Petersburg, Fla. and were active participants in local, regional and national church service.
After her first husband’s death, she carried on as a land developer for the family. She served on the Lehigh Valley Health Network Board of Associates Executive Committee and the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Visiting Nurses, Celebrity Luncheons. She was a member and supporter of LVHN Friends of Nursing, Emmaus Junior Women’s Club, the Zoellner Arts Center Inaugural Committee - Lehigh University and The Bach Choir of Bethlehem’s First Gala Committee.
She is survived by her husband; children, Lauren and her husband, Mark Fine, of Allentown, Susan and her husband, John Ioannou, of Union, N.J., Eric Michael and his wife, Jane, of Allentown; grandchildren, Andrew, Megan, Kevin, Shaun, Michael, Christopher, Collin and Erica; a brother, John Chipser and his wife, Frances, of Blaine, Wash., a sister-in-law, Patricia Eckert, of St. Petersburg, Fla. She was predeceased by an infant son, Todd Daniel Holben.

A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. April 27 in Concordia Lutheran Church, 2623 Brookside Road, Macungie. A calling hour will be held 1 to 2:15 p.m. April 27 in the church. The service will be streamed beginning 2:30 p.m. using YouTube, “Concordia Lutheran Church, Macungie PA.” Following the interment, a reception will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church, Macungie.
