Stolen vehicle recovered

Pennsylvania State Police recovered a stolen vehicle left unattended along Interstate 78 East, Salisbury Township, 4 a.m. March 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The investigation revealed the vehicle was reported stolen from the Carlisle Borough Police Department March 13.

Accidents

A teen passenger sustained a head injury after the vehicle he was riding in toppled onto its side in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Brookside Road and Buckeye Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:03 a.m. March 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist of the vehicle in which the teen was a passenger was southbound on Brookside when she allegedly turned in front of an oncoming northbound vehicle. Both vehicles attempted to enter the intersection on a yellow traffic signal. The teenage male was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital by Macungie Ambulance. Yocum Towing and Lower Macungie Fire Department also responded.

A motorist was hurt when their vehicle struck a tree and rolled over in a one-vehicle accident on Willow Lane near the intersection with Mulberry Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 7:54 a.m. Feb. 23. The motorist went off the northbound shoulder of the road and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The motorist was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Macungie EMS, the Lower Macungie Fire Department and Stew’s Towing also responded.

A commercial truck damaged a lawn in the 3900 block of Chestnut Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:19 p.m. Feb. 25 when the driver tried to turn around and got the truck stuck. The truck was traveling south on Chestnut Road at the intersection of Hensingers Road when the driver noticed a road sign prohibiting access to the road ahead and attempted to change direction. Hauser’s Truck Towing also responded.

Retail theft

A 30-year-old female and a 35-year-old female, both of Connecticut, were arrested for retail theft after they allegedly attempted to remove security devices from perfumes at Nordstrom Rack, 750 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 6:59 p.m. March 2, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Identity theft

A resident of School House Lane, Lower Milford Township, learned her personal information was used to open an online marketplace account and order two televisions, which were sent to the residence, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident happened between 6 p.m. Feb. 6 and 4 p.m. Feb. 8.

A resident of Autumn Ridge Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned a bank account was opened in her name, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Feb. 11.

A resident of Hauser Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned his personal information was used to claim unemployment benefits after he checked the status of a pending unemployment claim, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. He discovered the person who used his information had created a bank account to access funds set to be distributed to him for his recent unemployment claim. The resident also contacted the bank and Department of Treasury. The incident was reported Feb. 18.

Criminal attempt theft by extortion

An Upper Milford Township resident was threatened by a person who told the resident an inappropriate picture of him would be spread through the Internet if he did not pay $500 to keep the photo from being used, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The incident was reported Feb. 12.

Pedestrian accidents

A pedestrian was hurt when he was struck by a sport utility vehicle at the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and Minesite Road, Lower Macungie Township, 8:17 p.m. Feb. 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogeslsville. The pedestrian had minor injuries and was take to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

An Allentown man was injured when he was struck by a motorist while walking past the Wawa convenience store and gas station, 4900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 9:47 a.m. March 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The male was treated at the scene by Macungie EMS and transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital for an ankle injury. The motorist allegedly struck the pedestrian while entering the Wawa parking lot from the Hamilton Boulevard entrance.
