Retail theft

Jose Luis Reyes, 27, of Bethlehem, was placed under arrest for retail theft after he allegedly removed more than $660 in merchandise from Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 8, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Reyes allegedly removed items, including a car charger for a cellphone valued at $49.96 and laundry detergent and diapers valued at $661.88. State police were called to the store after Reyes was seen on store video surveillance footage dated Feb. 5 and Feb. 6 removing items. While en route to the suspect’s home as part of their investigation, troopers were called back to the store when Reyes allegedly returned to the store, where he was taken into custody.

Hit and run

State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, are investigating a hit and run crash involving a dark colored sedan and a 2002 Jeep Cherokee 2:11 p.m. Feb. 16 on Route 22 westbound, Mile Marker 323.6, Hanover Township.

According to police, troopers responded to the above location for the report of the hit and run crash.

Upon investigation, it was determined, the sedan changed lanes from the left lane of travel to the right lane of travel, striking the Jeep in the right lane, causing it to overturn in the right shoulder of the highway.
