Agnes A. Burda

Agnes A. (Klucharich) Burda, 80, died March 2, 2022. She was the devoted wife of Joseph M. Burda, with whom she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in November. Formerly of Lower Macungie Township and most recently Whitehall, she was born in Allentown, the daughter of the late Joseph and Stephanie (Yandrasits) Klucharich.

She graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School and pursued her education for teaching and business administration at Gwynedd Mercy College.

She started her career at Emerson Electric and looked back fondly at the fun times with the ladies at ATC in Alburtis, a position she later worked while raising her children. Her work life continued at Prudential and then Aetna, where she received several promotions with nine years of perfect attendance. She formed many long-lasting friendships with her work colleagues.

She was a longtime member of St. Thomas More Church, Allentown where she participated in various activities including the choir and women’s group. She loved crafts and traveled the world.

Her greatest pride and accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Sonia A., of Los Angeles, Calif. and Stephanie A. Allsup, of West Chester, Ohio; grandchildren James D. Allsup and Trevor M. Allsup; nieces; nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Marie Klusaritz.

A viewing will be held 9 to 10 a.m. March 10 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, 327 Chestnut St., Coplay. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. March 10 at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay.
