NORTH WHITEHALL: Union UCC chooses two for visitation ministry

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, has selected Carrie Beleno and Susan Glosan to serve as interims in the visitation ministry until a permanent individual is found for the job.

Beleno, who has experience as an educator and school principal, has led women’s retreat days and meditation sessions at Union UCC

She is a Reiki Master and owns a healing center.

She is currently doing clinical pastoral education at St. Luke’s.

In addition to visitations, Beleno will work with the Helping Hearts and Golden Times programs.

Glosan, currently enrolled in the chaplaincy program at Moravian Seminary, is a lifelong member of Union UCC who has been active as a musician, acolyte coordinator, and preacher.

Along with visitations, her responsibilities include preaching once a month.

Both individuals will assist with worship and funerals as needed.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, will be using the book, “Wondrous Encounters: Scripture for Lent” written by Richard Rohr for weekly devotions every noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday March 9 to April 6.

If in-person sessions are considered safe, the group will meet in Fellowship Hall and have a bring-a-sandwich lunch.

If COVID-19 precautions are in effect, the devotional study will be via Zoom.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, welcomes the community to Lenten services at 7 p.m. every Wednesday, March 9 to April 6

Worshippers can choose to attend in the sanctuary, in their cars on the parking lot with FM audio or virtually.

Soup will be available for purchase each Wednesday, first-come, first-served.
