Lehigh County officials are sworn in Jan. 3

In near simultaneous ceremonies recently, area politicians took their oaths for the offices to which they were elected.

The primary election was held Nov. 2, 2021.

COVID-19 sidelined Lehigh Commissioner Zachary Cole-Borghi keeping him from attending the ceremony in person.

Lehigh County Commissioner Jeffery Dutt had previously taken his oath of office because he was already an appointed commissioner; however, Jan. 3 marked the start of his first elected term of office. Dutt was appointed in December 2020 to fill the seat of Nathan Brown.

Amy L. Zanelli stepped down from her office as a Lehigh County Commissioner when she was elected as District Magistrate in District 31-01-06, Fountain Hill.

Lehigh County Executive Phillips Armstrong started his second term.

Former Lehigh County Commissioner Amy L. Zanelli is sworn in as a district magistrate of District 31-01-06 Jan. 3.
