Peter J. Julo Jr.

Peter J. Julo Jr., 85, of Germansville, formerly of Allentown, died peacefully Dec. 25, 2021, in his home.

He and his wife, Joan C. (Klapac) Julo, were married 61 years.

Born Sept. 19, 1936, in Coaldale, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late Peter and Rose (Kovatch) Julo.

He owned and operated the former P.J. Masonry, Allentown, for more than 40 years before retiring in 2005.

In 2003, he was inducted into the Carbon County Hall of Fame for his outstanding all-around athletic ability at Coaldale High School.

In 1954, he graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy from which he received the Eric Fisher Award as the outstanding athlete of the year.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by children Rose Marie Sell (Gary) of New Tripoli, Peter J. Julo III (Therese) of Perkasie, Catherine M. Muszynski (Mark) of Germansville, and Sandra M. Julo of Lehighton; brother John “Jack” Julo (Margaret Ann) of Allentown; sisters Dolores DeLaurentis (Joe) of Spring City, and Anne Pollack of Allentown; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. There will be no public calling hours.
