Special to The Press

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will be offering Christmas Eve worship 3 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Dec. 24.

Masks must be worn inside the church.

Union Lutheran will also have virtual services which will be broadcast to the parking lot at those same times.

Pastor Gordon Camp provided some thoughts on what people might want for Christmas

“I want my own nativity new-life, new birth that affords me complete peace,” Camp said. I believe that new life and deep peace are what we are all longing for.

“We are called during the Advent, Christmas and Epiphany seasons to live in hope, live in love, and walk in the full knowledge that God is in charge of our world and our lives and that because of the nativity of Jesus, we too shall live.’

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will have a family oriented service with a children’s message at 6 p.m. Dec. 24.

At 7:40 p.m., a musical prelude begins which leads to the traditional Christmas Eve worship at 8 p.m.

Pastor James Gottwald supplied some thoughts for the holiday season.

“Our celebration of Christmas is not only for us to look back on what God has done, but also to experience what God is doing today,” said the pastor. “Perhaps we will see some of these ways in our prayer, our study, and our worship. He is bringing peace, hope, joy, and love.”
