DUI

A 60-year-old male, of Bethlehem, was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the area of Sauerkraut Lane and Thistle Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:17 a.m. Sept. 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft

A check was removed from a blue mailbox outside the United States Postal Service office, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township and altered to an amount of $2,360.40, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A signature was forged on the check and it was deposited into a banking account. The incident happened between noon Nov. 8 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 11. The thief used a sticky substance to remove the check from the box. The check was the property of residents of the 7300 block of Hillcrest Drive, Lower Macungie Township.

A Nintendo video game console, valued at $150 and a set of Pokémon cards were removed from a residence in the 5200 block of Beaumont Lane, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The theft was reported Oct. 27 and the game console was later sold to GameStop.

Two political signs, with a total value of $30, were removed from a front yard in the 7400 block of Sweetwood Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between Aug. 31 and Oct. 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Identity theft

A resident of the 7400 block of School House Lane, Lower Milford Township, discovered personal information was stolen between Oct. 25 and 28, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A resident of the 5300 block of Spring Ridge Drive East, Lower Macungie Township, discovered personal information was stolen. The theft was reported 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15.

A resident of the 5700 block of Schultz Bridge Road, Upper MIlford Township, discovered personal information was stolen. The theft was reported 6:18 p.m. Oct. 14.

A resident of Autumn Ridge Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned someone used her personal information to file for unemployment benefits after receiving paperwork in the mail, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Oct. 4.

A resident of the 3800 block of Rittenhouse Road, Lower Macungie Township, was notified an unemployment claim was filed in her name, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Oct. 28.

A resident of the 3300 block of Saw Mill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, discovered his personal information was used to open a Wells Fargo checking account in his name between Oct. 8 and Nov. 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported to the bank and the account was closed.

Assault

State troopers responded to a residence in the 7500 block of Buttercup Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9:29 p.m. Oct. 5 for an alleged assault between two people, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft from motor vehicle

A bottle of perfume, valued at $63 as well as $60 cash were removed from a vehicle parked at Maxx Fitness gym, 6900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, Sept. 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Alarms

Troopers responded to Nordstrom Rack department store, 750 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, for an alarm 7:29 a.m. Nov. 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. All doors were secure and the alarm was determined to be false. The alarm was the sixth in the same consecutive 12-month period and resulted in a citation issued to the business, according to state police.

Troopers responded to GameStop video game and electronics store, 1042 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, for an alarm 11:09 p.m. Sept. 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The alarm was determined to be false and the fourth such alarm in the same consecutive 12-month period, resulting in a citation issued to the business, according to state police.

Scam

A resident of the 5700 block of Tavistock Lane, Lower Macungie Township, was scammed out of $8,000 after providing personal information, including a Social Security number, over the phone to a caller claiming the resident had won a sweepstakes, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident later discovered $8,000 was transferred from her bank account.

Criminal mischief

A 35-year-old male, of Philadelphia, allegedly used a boulder from a garden bed to damage the front windshield of a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Tee Court, Lower Macungie Township, 1:22 p.m. Sept. 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A mailbox was knocked over in the 6600 block of Sunnighman Lane, Lower Macungie Township, breaking the base of the mailbox post, Nov. 25, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The mailbox was valued at $100.

Found property

A red laundry bag containing several pieces of women’s clothing was found in a portable toilet in the 4200 block of East Macungie Road, Upper Milford Township, 4:12 p.m. Nov. 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Criminal trespass

An 18-year-old male, of Emmaus, an 18-year-old male, of Macungie, a 17-year-old male, of Macungie and an 18-year-old male, of Zionsville, allegedly were found to be trespassing in the 3500 block of Churchview Road, Upper Milford Township, 6:12 p.m. Sept. 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Accident

A Macungie motorist was hurt when his vehicle struck a residence in the 1700 block of Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9:50 p.m. Nov. 2, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was southbound when it left the road and went up an embankment, damaging two yards. The vehicle then went back across the road and hit a tree before hitting the residence and a vehicle in the driveway of the home. The motorist was seen running from the vehicle by the homeowner. The motorist was contacted by state police two days later. He had injuries to his face, according to state police.

Hit and run

A street sign was struck by a vehicle near the entrance of the Village Round private community, Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle left the accident scene. The incident was reported 9:39 a.m. Oct. 31.
