Lower Macungie Middle School honors veterans

ABOVE: A line of flags along the entrance drive into Lower Macungie Middle School, along Lower Macungie Road and stretching onto Mill Creek Road in Lower Macungie Township, are placed by the school's students as a tribute to U.S. military service personnel on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. The flag display was more than a half-mile in length. Spaced about two feet apart, the number of flags placed in the display totaled more than 1,300. Additional photos appear on Page A7.
Chuck Jackson from Macungie Memorial VFW Post 9264 announces the winners of the Patriot Pen Contest. First place winner is Aarav Ganshani. He spoke of voicing opinions and coming together to help others. The second place winner is Biden Rumford and the third place winner is Abigail DeFuso. The essays were to be written about “How Can I Be a Good American.”
As the Cadence Choir performs, members of the choir go into the audience and present veterans with poppies.
